Dear Scholarship Committee,
 
I am writing to apply for the ESL SCHOLARSHIP as a newcomer to Canada. As someone who has recently arrived in this beautiful country, I am committed to pursuing higher education and contributing positively to my community.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sahar Osia, and I am originally from Iran. I immigrated to Canada with my husband seeking better opportunities and a brighter future. Our journey has been both exciting and challenging, but I am determined to make the most of this new chapter in my life.
Here are some key points about my situation:
1.      Low-Income Background: As a newcomer, I face financial constraints due to the costs associated with settling down, language courses, and adapting to Canadian life. 
2.      Educational Aspirations: Despite the financial challenges, I am passionate about education. I believe that knowledge is the key to personal growth and community development.
3.      Academic Achievements: I consistently achieved high grades in my high school years in Iran. I was actively involved in extracurricular activities, including volunteering at local community centers and participating in cultural events.
4.      Career Goals: My long-term goal is to become a computer programmer. I am passionate about positively impacting my field and giving back to the community that has welcomed me.
 
I'd appreciate it if you could consider me for the ESL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship would significantly alleviate the financial burden on my family and allow me to focus on my studies. With your support, I am confident that I can excel academically and contribute meaningfully to Canadian society.
